Match Report Press Report

Abshot 1 Beat Lee-on-Solent 2 in a close match.

With the away team having higher Gradings in 4 of the strings, Home advantage looked to be needed to take the win. Local knowledge duly defeated the statisticians and the home team came through for a good win.

On paper, the number 3 string should have been the closest, with only 1 ranking points separating the two players before the match. Home advantage prevailed though, with Neil Limburn winning through.

It was the number 1 String which turned out to be the most competitive, with the Players battling out over a total of 74 Points ! Victory finally going to the Away Player, Alex Kershaw.

Player of the tie was the Away No. 2 string, Chris Horne, gaining 40 Ranking Points from the match.

With 3 strings going the distance, the match turned out to be a hard-fought battle.

Player of the match must be the Away number 2 string, Chris Horne, who over-turned a 190 ranking points disadvantage to record a great win.
